Are reunions a good idea?

Frocked-up and fearless

Frocked-up and fearless

I can’t believe it’s March already! I always remember my ex at this time of year as the first of March is his birthday. Although it’s been 12 years (I have since married and had a baby) I always reminisce about old times – and now it seems more relevant than ever as this May is my University’s 20 year anniversary celebration.

One of my Marziplanner brides recently won our “High Tea” competition. Fiona de Jong is getting married in Italy (lucky thing!) in May, and last year we ran a competition with the QVB Tea Room in Sydney, to win a High Tea with ‘you and 9 friends’. Well, Fiona was the lucky winner and she had her party there recently.

The link to these two stories is that un-beknown to me, Fiona went to the same University as I did, so it was by chance that she was our random winner. We have since talked about the uni reunion and as she will be in Italy getting married, she won’t be making it (I know where I would rather be too!)

So, back to our original question. Do you frock up and go to your school and uni reunions, knowing that you will undoubtedly see old flames and old friends (or enemies). Being the star of the show at your wedding day is one thing – for starters you have a professional doing your hair and makeup and you will be in an amazing gown! Secondly all your guests are friends and family so you should be in good company.

What about those disaster dates – the guys or girls you would rather forget? And those tragic toga parties, pub crawls, and nights of disgrace! Fun while it lasted? Worth digging up?

Reply back and tell me if you think I should go – or leave it in the vault.
