Texture
There is a real kaleidoscope of textures right now. This year the biggest fashion influence is from the 1920’s, featuring cocktail length beaded tulles, silk, chiffon and feathers. Soft and sexy designs featuring French Chantilly lace, border trims and 3-dimensional flowers are all popular.

Colour
Brides are exploring beyond the popular cream and white for their gowns with tones such as latte, mocha and oyster. Dynamic colours are big news for the bridal party, with black, red and white creating dramatic statements and a classic look reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. “Think Valentino, Elie Saab, Chanel”

Shape
Strapless is not so big this year. V-neck has taken its place. Slinky and sexy is still in, but more brides are aware of what shape will suit their figure, which designers are pleased about. "brides are letting their personal style come through rather than being dictated to by what is traditional or expected.”

And for the bridal party.....
- 1920’s drop waist style adorned with lace, patterns, frills etc.
- Printed fabrics in knee-length babydoll with bows under the bust
- Mum looking less like “mother of the bride” and more like her glamorous self
